Broken.Earth publishes character-led speculative and dystopian fiction that refuses easy answers. We believe the most urgent questions about who we are belong in the pages of a novel.
We publish speculative fiction, dystopian fiction, and science fiction with literary ambition. Our books ask questions that policy cannot answer: What is loyalty when the state has collapsed? What does survival cost? Where does identity survive the end of the world?
Broken.Earth was founded by Danny Lenihan — novelist, journalist, and former stand-up — out of the conviction that the most important stories are the ones publishers don't quite know how to shelve.
Submission guidelinesWhere it begins. A world reshaped by the Cataclysm, and a man trying to hold a version of himself together inside it.
The Cataclysm's long shadow. Loyalties fracture and the cost of survival becomes impossible to calculate.
A companion to the Rogue universe. Brutal, intimate, and set in the world's bleeding edges.
A life told backwards and forwards at once. Literary science fiction narrated by Mason Winward, born 1973.
"Marvelously human and funny as hell."
Ray Porter — Narrator, Audible bestseller
Danny Lenihan spent seven years as a photojournalist — working with Reuters, the Guardian, the Telegraph, and Getty — before a decade in stand-up comedy, and eventually the longer, slower art of the novel.
His fiction draws from all of it: the instinct for a true moment, the instinct for an audience, and the irreversible knowledge that the world is stranger and sadder and funnier than any story can quite contain.
